Lady Eshira Rhiyad
of
House Dhamsid
Beguiling Domani Debutante
(Character Played by Sherry)
As I said earlier, I am fairly certain that Janile and Eshira were created about the same time, and I had great fun playing Janile as the windswept and adventerous heroine.
But I wanted to play a refined lady as well. I created Eshira to be the pampered noblewoman that Ielera was not. I just wasn't very good at role-playing a refined young woman (my mother would not be shocked to read this). The Lady Eshira Rhiyad was a temptress, a wanton harlot, and an incurable flirt. Altogether not surprising since she was Domani, and the daughter of the famous seductress herself, Lady Dareane, who actually encouraged her. Eshira had a series of affairs with all the most eligible men in Tar Valon. Waldyn Andivell, Rhun Mayew, Lord Andraenes Rhiaghan, Zandar Gazere... Let's face it, she was unapologetic tramp. I wanted to give Eshira a dramatic death, but it never happened, perhaps flinging herself into the river from one of the bridges. I like to picture her, right now, sitting before her dressing table, wiping off the make-up she slept in, looking over at the bed, trying hard to remember the name of the guy in it.
Eshira's Background
- This was the little +note I sent to Callandor (the Noble Wizard on Tales), proving a little thumbnail view of Eshira's character:
Eshira is a total noble's daughter – pampered and spoiled in every way, she loves luxury and comfort, and is extremely condescending. Well educated by her nurses, she was raised at Court in Bandar Ebban, and tutored by scholars from the Terhana Library. She can ride, can play a harp, embroiders, paints flowers. She is also well schooled by the women of her house in the arts of Domani feminine manipulation. She will play a sort of spoiled seductress, likes to flirt to get her way. The background that Dareane and I have established is that she is a Grand Dame of Court, and I as her daughter would be regarded well by the other nobles. She is now in Tar Valon, because she wishes to see the Great City, and her mother is here on some diplomatic errand for the king. She is willing to dabble in espionage, but since she is new and impetuous, will likely get busted as she tries her hand in Daes Dae'mar.
We have decided that Dareane encourages her daughter in her wanton manner, as she is hoping to see her get experiences and become a more "lethal" player of the Game when they are recalled to Arad Doman.

Eshira's Description
Tall and lithe, with a high swan-like neck, Lady Eshira Riayad of the House of Dhamsid looks clearly to be Domani borne. Her hair is thick and lustrous, a darkly gleaming spill of copper, is worn loose and flowing about her narrow shoulders. Her face is a study of elegant features, with large limpid eyes of hazel and a finely turned nose. Her lips are soft and tinted a soft shade of mauve, and soft cream-coloured powder accentuates her eyes. Her dress of pale azure covers all, with a high neck and long sleeves, free falling, but is just a whisper shy of indecent, suggesting all, but revealing naught. A sash of darker blue satin is tied about her waist, with a small jeweled ornament of silver and lapis lazuli fastening it upon one hip. The skirts are actually divided for riding, but an extremely cunning seamstress has disguised the division so that the skirts seem as one, until Eshira is actually astride. A wide necklace of flat moonstones and tourmalines snugs about her throat, and upon one wrist is a wide cuff of silver and matching stones. Small pending moonstones on silver studs gleam at her ears. Peeking from beneath her hems are heeled riding boots of softest kid leather, dyed to match, and thrown around her shoulders is a splendid cape of white velvet, trimmed with fox, with the rose and thorns of Dhamsid embroidered in argent thread all along the edges. In the hollow of her waist hangs a slender curved long-knife in a supple leather sheath. The hilt of the knife is wrapped in silver wire, and a pale blue sapphire twinkles in the hilt
Eshira's Property
Dareane's Servants:
Amisa Doriff: Maid to Lady Eshira
A matronly seeming woman, with lines of care about her bronze face and an air of patience, Amisa Doriff serves as attendant and chaperone to the Lady Eshira. Her dark hair is laced with white, and looped in an intricate coil around her temples. Her dress is finest muslin, the color of cream, freshly pressed and free-falling, belted at the waist by a sash of blue silk. A small broach in the rose and thorn sigil of Dhamsid is her only adornment aside from some bands of silver on her fingers. Amisa is not thin, yet she still manages to affect the famed Domani allure in her posture and carriage.
