-
Nationality - Altaran
-
Character Description - Proud and martial, with large black eyes crackling with vitality, and a hooked nose ruinous to any claim to beauty, Ciane Astinese carries herself with the serene arrogance of her high station. The daughter of an Altaran goatherd, Ciane presents herself in a dress cut from the style of her homeland: high, lace trimmed collar and long, narrow sleeves, with the darkly shimmering green skirts sewn up above one knee to reveal a fine petticoat of white and sea-foam green, together with a wide, oval cut-out, trimmed in Cosille lace, exposing the tops of her breasts. A wide belt of woven gold is cinched tight across her midriff, and a curved knife in a jeweled sheath tucked behind. Her black hair is interrupted by sprays of white at the temples, and hangs sleek and shiny to her shoulders, with a band of stiffened green velvet, sewn with crystals, keeping it all in place. A faint tracery of a scar can be seen as it makes its way from under her left eye, trails across her cheek and over the bridge of her nose, the only flaw in her otherwise exemplary complexion, with smooth, unlined cheeks, and an uncreased brow. Indeed, but for the white in her hair, she might be taken for a much younger woman, but the deep resolve in her eyes, and patient ennui belies innocence. It is difficult to put an age to her, for she is Aes Sedai.

Guensin Aniches: A tall, lean daughter of fishers from the rowdy, dirty Tairen Maule, Guensin Sedai was able to flee her early life of violence and deprivation thanks to the laws of Tear that made it illegal to remain in her homeland after it was revealed she could channel. The Defenders dragged her from her home, leaving her scant moments to say good bye to her parents, her sisters and her beloved brother Euan. Upon arriving in Tar Valon, she was bright student, and excelled in her studies. She chose the Red Ajah upon her raising. She is also known to have an impressive array of informants in several key locations, including the Sun Court in Cairhien, where she once took a lengthy sabbatical, as well as in the ruling houses of Tarabon and Arad Doman. She does have a gaping hole in her network in Tear, though, as Guensin seems to behave as if that nation no longer exists.
