Roisene Meriodred

• Full Name - Roisene Ailil Meriodred Aes Sedai
• Position - Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah, Sitter for the Yellow in the Hall of the Tower.
• Character Summary - Haughty and imperious, Roisene Meriodred recently emerged from brutal infighting among the Yellow to claim a seat in the Hall, making more than a few enemies in the process. Born of minor Cairheinin nobilty, little more than landed gentry, Roisene affects the airs of a queen. She is an accomplished Healer nonetheless, one the most respected in the Tower. Arriving at the Tower a wilder, Roisene has a soft spot in heart for other such as herself. She is believed to have been associated with an outlawed association of channeling women, but unlike Tianan Tanches of the Green Ajah, her connection has never been proven. Roisene is an actively hostile rival to Tullia Nembrey. Roisene has one gaidin, the nobly born Willem Bedevere, former captain in the Queen's Guards of Andor. Recently installed as a Sitter for the Yellow in the Hall of the Tower, Roisene's thirst for power has only grown, it is an open secret that she seeks a high office, the Seat itself, when the time comes. However, a bloc of sisters among her own Ajah is determined to see that day never comes. Although generally dismissive of the students in the Tower, Roisene has cast a proprietary eye on two novices, despite each having benefactresses already. The two are Baedille Daraghain of Cairhien and Helyn dene Artemedes of Illian, both derived of royal blood in their homelands. Additionally, Roisene has cultivated an Domani Accepted, Sileane Teffar, as a protégé for reasons less obvious.

• Character Description - A pale dark-eyed Cairhienin, Roisene Meriodred is unusually tall for her countrywomen, with refined features, although with a nose too long for beauty and a jaw too strong for elegance, all in a dignified Aes Sedai's face of ageless complexion. Roisene's hair is a glossy sable, a mass of curls confined by a delicate net of golden filaments, adorned with glistening bits of topaz. Roisene wears a formal Cairhieinin-style gown of darkest bronze satin, although with panels of lighter, mustard colored satin on the bodice and down the front of the skirt, all heavily worked in golden embroidery making out a labyrinthine pattern evoking leaves and thorns. The gown features a long train, and Roisene wears a flowing manteau of saffron velvet over the gown, habiliment regal enough for a queen. Roisene wears a large square-cut topaz on her breast, hanging from a silken ribbon, and several bracelets studded with yellow opals on each wrist. Lastly, her Great Serpent ring is worn on her right hand, amid several golden bands. Soft slippers cover her feet, sewn with more golden thread, matching to the dress.

• Baedille Daraghain: A young novice from Cairhien and descended from House Daraghain, a noble house of deposed Cairhienin kings, Baedille is novice of much potential, and has garnered the eyes of many sisters who seek to use her towards their own ends. Cetreise a'Sorhen of the Blue has cast a protective mantle over the girl, but Roisene Sedai still has cast her own proprietary eye on her as well.
• Helyn dene Artemedes: The young daughter of Lord Valin Elios den Artemedes, the contentious rival and cousin of the King of Illian, with powerful supporters and a strong blood claim to the Laurel Crown, Helyn has recently enrolled in the White Tower as a novice. An Illianer princess, Helyn has attracted a lot of attention during her time in the Tower from many sisters who seek to use her towards their own ends. The ambitious Jacelain sur Eiron of the Green has designs on her as well as Roisene.
• Sileane Taffar: A sleek and sensuous Domani girl, Sileane Taffar is a forth-year Accepted with a passable Talent for Healing. Roisene has taken her on as a secretary and travelling companion.
• Oranne din Matar Silver Gull: A Yellow sister of the Sea Folk, well-liked by her sisters, although extremely closed-mouthed about her people. Oranne is one of the few Aes Sedai known to bear a child, in this case, a daughter named Gestelle who resides among the Aithan a'Miere. Oranne makes frequent visits with her away from Tar Valon.
• Shella Mathis: A dashing figure among the Yellow Ajah, Shella Mathis is an unsually daring and adventurous sister, and has even served as an advisor to a throne, as odd as that might seem. Although not great friends with Roisene, the two play at niceties, as they are both rivals for the seat of First Weaver.
• Reyna Maristova: A Grey Sister of Arafel, easy to overlook and quickly dismissed, Reyna Sedai is very close with Roisene, and they are of an age. Roisene often takes advantage of Reyna's ability to blend into the background, while remembering all that is said around her.
• Narindrin Arinaad: A prominent Yellow sister, Narindrin was born of Tarabon and is one of the favored instructors in the Tower, and is also famous for her works in the poorer wards of Tanchico, and all across Tarabon, where she is an adored national figure.
• Willem Bedevere: Roisene's ruggedly handsome warder, Willem is a former Captain in the Queen's Guards of Andor, who seemingly resigned his commssion after being greivously injured. Roisene was able to restore much of his health, and he pledged her service in return.
