• Character Summary - An Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah. An esteemed, agêd Yellow sister, she is a close partisan of Rigan a'Vorhan of the Green Ajah. Aznaya Sedai was raised to her seat to fill the vacancy caused by Elsbedhe Bodwell's summary dismissal of Tezanya Vadanyar, becoming one of her most vocal supporters. It was Aznaya Sedai who discovered Shella Mathis of the Yellow Ajah, whom she took on as protégé, and has been guiding her career ever since. A talented, newly raised Cairhienin Yellow, Belavaere Aindevin serves as her aide and amaneusis.

• Character Description - Tall and stocky, Aznaya Taim was in her youth a curvaceous, shapely woman, but now given over to a more matronly figure. Her once dark brown hair is streaked heavily with white, is worn long and sleekly shining down her back, held off her sharply aquiline face by a peaked golden coronel, studded with topaz and sunstones. Long tassels of tripled pearls dangle from the coronel before ears, touching her shoulders. Aznaya wears a gown in an archaic Saldaean fashion, with wide shoulders and a square neckline, sewn from shimmering bronze silk, and heavily embroidered in golden thread down the bodice, and in widening triangular panels on the full skirts in an interlacing, labyrinthine pattern. Intricate, glistening golden Tuvain lace spills from the bosom, and more erupts around her cuffs. Heavy pieces of jewelry, glowing sunstones and fiery bits of garnet set in yellow gold, hang around her neck and on each wrist. Aznaya is still beautiful, with a ruddy complexion and large tilted eyes as dark as polished jet, set in a sharply-cheeked Saldaean face replete with a boldly shaped nose. Aznaya Sedai wears her formal shawl draped artfully over her gown, richly embroidered in vines and flowers, the Flame of Tar Valon picked out on the back, and trailing long silky fringe the color of ripe summer wheat.
