Character Description - Slim and of middling height, animated by a ferocious energy, Damara Salines has the dark typical Tairen coloring, smooth brown skin, with cool amber eyes and a spill of glossy black hair. Damara's eyes are snapping with intensity and intelligence, and her full mouth seems pursed in a perpetual moue of concentration, the expression of a sulky young woman ever on the verge of a tantrum. Yet, quantifying her age is no mean feat, for despite her expression, her eyes are wise and swimming with ennui, and her face his clear and unlined. Damara's currant-colored dress is finely cut from darkly gleaming silk, with a high collar that juts at angles beneath her jaw, long sleeves with tight cuffs, and divided skirts. Intricate embroidery in coppery thread works out a labyrinthine pattern along her hems and down the sleeves, across her shoulders and collar. Her black hair is held from her face by a narrow chaplet of small garnets interspersed with pearls, a rare and extravagant piece. Her only other adornment is her Great Serpent ring. Around her narrow hips is a finely tooled belt of black suede, hung with her purse and poniard, and heeled riding boots appear from beneath her hems. A rich cloak of crimson velvet is thrown over her frame, clasped by a small broach of intricate golden knot-work.
- Associates:
- Nairise Bendone: Lovely and pert, Nairise originally hails from Mayene, and is considered one of Damara's protégés. Damara often takes her as her secretary and travelling companion. Nairise seems likely to manifest a Foretelling Talent, and is in her second year of Acceptance.
- Almaya ibn Sahudaan: A slender, vicious Red Sister, she is born of the wily House Sahudaan of Tarabon, and is known to be treacherous and full of venom to those who earn her enmity. She stays close to Damara, however, because she envies her influence and clout.
- Demethia Hekatheos: Persuasive and bellicose, Demethia Hekatheos also stands among the first rank of the Red Ajah. Illianer by birth, she has a surprisingly amiable relationship with Perseinde Apeneos of the Blue Ajah, despite ideological differences. Demethia is seldom seen outside of Damara's company, despite the fact that as novices, and well into their Acceptance, they had ferocious, bruising arguments.
- Jasiro Tengoyin: Arrogant, and not well liked, Jasiro is an Arafellin Red Sister, and very much part of Damara's company. Jasiro has located and apprehended nearly twelve channeling men, making her well admired by her sisters. Jasiro has an amazing gift to work with Earth, which makes her a capable combatant in the field.
- Renaeve Emoendred: Petite and fair, Renaeve is Cairhienin, and has an innate affinity for Daes Dae'mar, despite being the daughter of shopkeepers and not nobles. Renaeve is a capable manipulator, and counts many powerful nobles as her personal informants. She is currently serving a secret penance imposed upon her by her own Red Ajah, and she currently resides in Caemlyn, tending networks of informants and agents for the Reds.
