• Character Summary - Persuasive and bellicose, Demethia Hekatheos also stands among the first rank of the Red Ajah. Illianer by birth, she has a surprisingly amiable relationship with Perseinde Apeneos of the Blue Ajah, despite ideological differences. Demethia is seldom seen outside of the company of Damara Salines, despite the fact that as novices, and well into their Acceptance, they had ferocious, bruising arguments.

• Character Description - Tall and slim, one might say ‘reedy', Demethia Hekatheos carries the sing-song accent of Illian on her tongue. Her hair is dark and glossy, a neat braided ring at the back of her head, fixed in place by a series of pins tipped in twinkling garnets, with a small array of tiny curls across her forehead. Her face is a strongly handsome one, with large, appraising eyes and wide cheekbones. Her mouth is artfully formed, lips tinted a dark crimson, and her nose boldly aquiline. Her dress is tailored with the wide neckline and ankle-length skirts of her native land, cut from lustrous berry-colored silk, with delicate wisps of silver tracery edging the neckline, the hems and down the sleeves. A costly necklace of large beads of ivory, interspersed with glittering bezels of ruby, is draped about her throat, and matching pieces adorn her ears. Her darkly attractive countenance is wise and seemingly serene, yet her black eyes smolder with subdued emotion, ready to erupt at the slightest provocation. Her smooth features, youthful and clear, and canny gaze make putting an age to her difficult, and the glittering Great Serpent ring on her hand marks her Aes Sedai. A fine belt of black leather, fastened by an enameled buckle, and hung with purse, and a small poniard with a jeweled hilt circles her narrow waist and slippers of matching red satin and a thick mantle of black velvet with scrolls in red silken embroidery all along the edges complete her ensemble.

• Damara Salines: Persuasive and saturnine, Damara Salines stands among the first rank of the Red Ajah, and she is an outspoken critic of the regime of the current Amyrlin. An strongly opinionated Sister, she was recently recalled from her position as the advisor to Queen Breigide of Ghealdan. Originally from Tear's brutal Chalm district, she is a dangerous and unpredictable fighter. Damara was a wilder, and her instructors despaired of her ability to transcend it. She leads a large clique of Red sisters, including Renaeve Emoendred, Jasiro Tengoyin, Almaya ibn Sahudaan and Demethia Hekatheos. Damara is expected to assume a Seat in the Hall before long. She is currently assigned to help govern the conclave of Aes Sedai dispatched to Illian, where she vies for dominance against Rigan a'Vorhan of the Green Ajah.
• Perseinde Apeneos: Punctilious Blue of Illianer heritage, she has served many years as the Aes Sedai advisor to the Kings of Saldaea, and she set herself up in semi-retirement in Maradon upon the death of the last King of Saldaea, the current queen’s father. Her reasons for returning to Tar Valon are unknown. She is a moderately affective healer. Seeing the blithe and warm reception Roseana Sedai received upon her return to the Tower after a lengthy sojourn of exploits and missions from members of the Blue Ajah, Perseinde Sedai resigned her seat, and sponsored Althea as her successor. The political in-fighting between Perseinde and Roseana has laid bare a deep chasm amid the Blue Ajah, even as they do try to conceal such to outsiders. In time, Roseana left the Tower on a mysterious mission, and Perseinde reclaimed the seat she had held for years. Newly returned to the Hall, she clashes with Sielle Goravina, who believes that she should be the senior-most Blue Sitter.
